A Syrian novelist and a member of the Arab Writers Union. He’s a graduate of the philosophy and social studies department at the University of Damascus. He has six well-known novels which include, Baghl al Tahun (Mule of the Mill) and Al Ghurab Al Aasam (Red-Billed Chough). His novel Aaelat Al Haj Mubarak (The Family of Haj Mubarak) won the Naguib Mahfouz Award in 1999 and his novel Jeb Al Rumman won Al Mazraa award in 2001. His novel Kahen Dora (Priest Dora) won the Dubai Cultural Award in 2013.
