An Egyptian storyteller and novelist born in Luxor in 1967. Works as an editor in Al Thaqafa Al Jadida magazine. He has published 3 story series: Al Gibreelia, Al Faras Laysa Horran, and Ahwak and a series for children entitled Al-Sakkata along with 3 novels: Al Sanam, Manafi al Rab and Inhiraf Had. He won first prize in a press contest called Akhbar Al Arab for short stories across the Arab world for his story Ajalat Aarabat Al Karo Al-Arbaa. His novel Manafi Al-Rab made it into the long list for the international Prize for Arab Fiction in 2014. This story also entered the long list in the Chinese Institute contest Okioda that same year. His novel Inhiraf Had also entered the long list for the Sheikh Zayed Book Award in 2015 and the international Prize for Arab Fiction in 2015.
