Belgium based Anke Rymenams obtained her Masters degree in Illustration from the Provincial High School in Limburg. She has trained as a teacher and has worked as a volunteer in the favelas of Brazil to teach children art and language. For 3 years until June 2008, she worked
 at the FactorY, a social-artistic-atelier for deprived people, after obtaining extra training for teaching creative courses to mentally disabled people. She also teaches children and youngsters at the Art Academy SLAC in Leuven (Belgium).
 Anke has found working with children fascinating and this has led to an interest in illustrating books for children. She has worked on Al Bint Al Saghira Alati for Kalimat.
