Badryah Al Beshr

Dr. Badryah El-Bishr is a novelist and journalist from Saudi Arabia. Her long dated contributions in several Arab newspapers culminated to winning the award for best columnist at the Arab Journalism Award Ceremony in 2011. El-Bishr is the first Arab woman to achieve this award. El-Bishr published various short stories collections and novels such as: Gharamiyat Sharei al Aasha (Passions of al Aasha Street), Hind W-alAaskar (Hind and the Military? and Habbat al Hal (Cardamom). She published several studies such as, Al Hayat al Ijtimaaiya fi Najd (Social life in Najd) and Maarek Tash ma Tash: Qeraa fi Thihniyat al Tahrim fi al Mujtamaa al Suoodi (Battles of Tash ma Tash: Research in the Mentality of Taboos in Saudi). She is the producer and hostess of a social talk show targeting Saudi society issues on MBC 1 entitled, Badryah.
