Joelle Achkar was born in 1984 in Lebanon. After years of doodling the unusual details of the world around her, Joëlle joined the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA) and earned a Masters degree in illustrations and comics in 2007. An independent illustrator, Joelle loves to illustrate children’s stories, creating funny and expressive characters and to animate them with a vivid color palette. Since 2009, Joelle has been teaching Visual Literacy to first year students in the Interior Architecture & Design Department at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA).
