Al Shalabi is a translator from Jordan. He translated several literary works from Turkish to Arabic; including: Nawa Athar, an anthology of Turkish literature, Lüzumsuz Adam which is comprised of selected stories of the Turkish writer Sait Faik Abasıyanık, as well as selected stories of a group of Turkish writers. He also translated several works by Aziz Nesin, including Wa Hal Taati Qalilan (Will You Come a Little) Ayesh Allathi Yaeesh wala Yaessh (A Life Who Lives and Does Not Live) and Majnoon Ala Al Sat-h (Crazy on the Roof). He received the Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation in 2015 and “Jaaizat Maktabat Al Osra Al Orduniya” (Jordanian Family Library Award) in the same year.
