With a teaching diploma in Arabic and Social Studies from the American University of Beirut, Lebanese born Samar Mahfouz Barraj has worked as an Arabic language teacher and is in charge of the library in a private school. She is also a member of LBBY. She participates in multiple activities in different Lebanese areas to encourage children to read. These experiences have given her an understanding of human nature and empathy for children. She has thus been able to tailor her stories to suit the tastes and language of her young readers. With her lyrical style and her ability to weave a story that captures the attention of young readers, Samar’s books will be a valuable addition to every child’s collection.
