Tarek Kamal graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Egypt in 2001. He worked in the field of illustration and design for children’s books with publishing houses and magazines in the Middle East. He also worked as an art director and collaborated with advertising agencies and web design companies on cartoon characters and backgrounds for the websites they design. He has participated in several exhibitions in various Egyptian cultural spaces and in the Dear Japan project displayed at World Picture Books Exhibition: Bologna Children’s Book Fair in Itabashi held in Itabashi Ward in Tokyo, a sister city of Bologna in August 2011.
