Gustavo Aimar

Aimar is a graphic designer, illustrator, and an artist. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1973. In 1977 his family relocated to Trelew, in the Patagonia region of Argentina where he lives to this day. His curiosity for drawing and art in general manifested at a very early age. He attended various artistic expression workshops where he came in contact with different materials and mediums that were new to him. He studied at the Centro Polivalente de Arte of Trelew between 1987 and 1991 where he obtained a degree to teach Art and Drawing. In 1993 he went back to the city of Buenos Aires to study Graphic Design. He worked at a newspaper doing supplement design and diagraming. He has participated since 1986 as a student, artist or illustrator in different shows and galleries. He was selected to show his illustration work at the Bologna Book Fair in 2008 and the Bratislava Illustration Biennial in 2009 (Foro de Ilustradores de Argentina). He's currently devoted full time to illustrating children's books, various publications and in his free time he continues to create art and personal projects.
