Salha Ghabish started out as a teacher and currently heads the cultural office within the Supreme Council of Family Affairs. She is also the publisher of a magazine for girls named “Sadiqati al Azizat” which gives them a platform to share issues that are of concern to them. Salha is a highly respected figure in Emirati culture and creates a magical world for her readers in her poems, short and long stories and in her plays. Starting right from her school years when she excelled in Arabic composition, she has had a deep passion for the Arabic language. She is closely involved with writing and producing plays. Her published books on poetry include Bintizar Al-Shams (Waiting for the Sun), Al Maraya Laysat Hiya (Mirror is not the same), Alaan Araft (Now I have Known) and the collection Biman ya Buthayna Taluthin? (With whom O Buthynah Do You Protect Yourself?). She has written books for children and teenagers with Rihlat Dana (Dana’s Journey) being the first book she has written for Kalimat.
