When war breaks out in their country and the shelling approaches their neighborhood, Zaid’s family along with their neighbors flee their houses. The only thing Zaid brings along is his teddy bear Dabdoob. Despite his fear, Zaid tells Dabdoob that the war will end soon and they will return home.
The story reveals the gruesomeness of war to children but reassures them that there is hope always. Telling the story from the teddy bear’s perspective is innovative and explains the confused description of the events.
