The story of this beautiful Afghani girl starts a little after America’s invasion of Afghanistan in 2001. It is a fictional story based on real events. Jamila’s mother dies due to illness and her father remarries a woman who refuses Jamila’s presence in their home. Consequentially, her father takes her to and leaves her at the market. This results to Jamila living in an orphanage in Kabul.
